Constantina Bakolitsa
Researcher @ Berkeley
Enabling communication and the growth of relationships (work and otherwise) between attendees from such vastly different realms of life is, I believe, critical for creating a new transformative Culture of the Commons.
Carl Cervone
Speaker
Congrats to Funding the Commons! The combo of big ideas - builder energy is exceptional.
Al Smith
Speaker
Funding the Commons events have been excellent ways for the Tor Project to meet people who are not part of our 'traditional ecosystem' but have clear values alignment and are working towards similar things. Some strong relationships have been forged because of these events. Thanks for doing what you do!
Earth Commons
Check out our sister conference focused on the transformation of funding and governance of nature’s commons
Earth Commons was originally incubated as Sustainable Blockchain Summit from within the Filecoin Green Team at Protocol Labs as a conference series sitting at the nexus of Web3 and Climate.
Today, the Funding the Commons Team has inherited the conference series. We are building out an ecosystem focused on underscoring the systemic, interdependent changes necessary for progress in governing planetary commons, such as forests, fisheries, oceans, biodiversity, freshwater reservoirs, and other ecosystem services, by uniting the forces of Web2, Web3, research, philanthropy, and industry.
Building a Better Tomorrow
We accelerate the development and implementation of blockchain-based infrastructure for public goods funding. By nurturing a diverse ecosystem across Web2, Web3, academia, public sector institutions, philanthropy and industry, we aim to cultivate the interdependent systemic changes necessary for better management of public goods.
We envision a world where human coordination at scale inherently prioritizes commons, with the brightest global talent focused on public good innovation, backed by robust impact evaluation systems, and sustained by continuous capital flows.
